Blogging about the mail

Yes, really. But at least there's a story to go along with it.

Back in August, Andy and I went to what is probably the 1st or 2nd best rock concert of my life. It was the Foo Fighters at Xcel Energy Center, beaten only (possibly) by REM at Midway Stadium in the pouring rain. The Foo put on a seriously great show, playing for the better part of 3 hours and doing all their greatest hits and then some. It was epic.

While walking around the concourse in between the opening act (Royal Blood, also great), I noticed a sign advertising the 2016 U.S. Figure Skating Championship, to be held at Xcel in January of 2016. I immediately texted my mom, telling her we just HAD to go. We went last time nationals were in town and it was AMAZING.

Anyway, all of that to say that this showed up in the mail today:

In case you can't read those tickets, we went ahead and got the Finals Weekend Package. We have tickets to the final free skates of all the major disciplines - Championship Dance, Pairs, Women's, and Men's. That's pretty much everything going on Saturday and Sunday except for the Skating Spectacular on Sunday night. I am ridiculously excited, even taking into account that I'll be pretty majorly pregnant by then. All I'll have to do is sit and watch. I think I can manage that. Last time, we saw an actual tie take place in the men's finals! It was decided by who had the better score on their long program, I think, as opposed to aggregating their two scores together. Something like that.

Ok, time for bed for me now. The cats are waiting for me so we can snuggle. :-)

Cats are weird.

Any chance Bowman the Showman will appear?

Yay, I am so excited to go! Luckily you will still fit into one of our seats and I will park as close as possible and make sure you get up and down the stairs safely. Skating one weekend, baby shower the next. Life is good.

Gino - Doubtful on Bowman. It's all about the quads now, so there aren't many showmen left. Jason Brown, maybe.

Mom - Me too! I'm sure I'll be able to navigate safely. :-)

I am pretty sure that NaBloPoMo has no rule against blogging about mail. (I think there's one against blogging about blogging, though.)

It sounds like something to look forward to on a January weekend. Have fun!
