One Year Ago, Today

November 11, 2008

This is the photo that I could find that was closest to November 11th. It's from the 15th - looks like we had some yummy deserts there. It was a fun night.

In my blog, I was complaining about the lack of available campaign/political news. I don't miss it now, although I know it will be starting again before long. We've got a governor to elect next year, after all. I was also concerned about the winter weather advisory - I'm also glad that hasn't made an appearance yet this year. In fact, the last week has been unbelievably nice, especially for November in Minnesota. I am going to savor it while I can. If only I could get one last bike ride in - I need to redeem myself after the disaster last weekend. My bruises are starting to heal, and I think I managed to fix my bike last night, yay! So if the weather holds, I'll go out one more time this weekend. I'm mostly posting it here so that I don't forgot/lose my motivation.

More tomorrow, I promise. And maybe some current photos, even.

I like the look back, myself.

How did the cranberry bread turn out?

GFR - The cranberry bread is/was yummy although slightly mushy in the middle. I always worry that it's going to be too dry, so I think I took it out of the oven a few minutes too early. It'll be perfect next time.

Ah, the mushy middle. I have had that happen several times, for the same reason. Since it only gets moister (is that a word?) over time, why do we worry?
I must buy some cranberries!
