France Nostalgia

I find myself wanting to do one more post about France this weekend, because, well... that's the kind of weekend it's been. My study abroad experience in Nantes has never really been documented on this particular blog, aside from the Oakeys story last year, so I thought I'd do that today.

This is the building that held the IES Study Abroad Center and offices. And, conveniently, my host family also lived two floors up from IES. This was my home and where I took most of my classes.

The park just down the street from IES that I would walk through on my way to the tram.
Place Graslin, home of L'Opera.

FNAC, France's answer to Best Buy, at Place de Commerce.

One of the main streets off Place de Commerce.

The dear friends I spent most of my time with while in Nantes. I believe we were all cooking dinner together.
I miss France, and I am so glad that Nantes was my first real introduction to living there. It is a vibrant city with not a lot of tourists, which was great for someone like me trying to be immersed in the language and culture. Plus, those girls were and are great friends.

Ok, now for today's cat photo:

A fabulous post. It is fun to revisit Nantes which your dad and I loved. We had such a great time there and you were a wonderful host/guide.

It was also fun to see the Oakeys link and the photo from Montmarte. Since that is currently my FB profile picture, maybe I should change it. I didn't realize that photo is eleven years old!
